1 Month to go!

There’s just one month left until I get my white coat!  Summer is flying by.  Although I’m making headway on my “bucket list,” I’m realizing that many things that I wanted to do this summer just aren’t going to happen, as we have zero free weekends due to weddings.  However, the weddings have all been fun, and I’ve gotten to see a ton of my friends, some of which I haven’t seen in months (or years).  I’m also thinking I’m not going to finish all the books I set out to read this summer.  I’ve got four left, so we’ll see how that goes.  Things are coming together with the move.  We’re officially moving to Kirksville on August 4.  It’s amazing how many things have to be done in order to move.  Our apartment is getting messier and messier as more and more things go into boxes, which are stashed randomly around our apartment.  It’s all so exciting!  Nick and I are going to Kirksville tomorrow for a job interview, to pick out a mattress and order a bed, and run a few other errands in our soon to be “Home Sweet Home.”  I’m really excited to buy some ATSU gear, as the last time we were in Kirksville was a weekend, and the bookstore wasn’t open.

I’m starting to get a little sad to say goodbye to Lincoln, my home for the past six years.  I will miss so much about this city.  I’m also getting sad to say goodbye to the kids I have been nannying for the past two years.  We’ve tried to prepare them for the fact that I won’t be their nanny anymore.  Eloise always asks, “Are you going to move back to Lincoln when you’re a doctor?”  To which I say, “Yeah, maybe.”  She then replies, “Then you can be a doctor AND our nanny!”  Too cute.  They’re two of the greatest kids, and I’m really going to miss them!

As sad as I will be to end this chapter of my life, I am overjoyed to be starting school.  Going to medical school has always been my dream, and I really can’t wait to get started, even though I know how hard and stressful it is going to be.  ONE MORE MONTH!
